The Remover of Darkness
boyprayerGuru means the remover of darkness. Poornima is the bright light of the full moon. Guru Poornima is a day set aside to reflect on the teachings given by the Guru and to rededicate oneself to follow the path of light, the path that removes ignorance. At this time, when the Light of Truth shines extra brightly, stubborn obstacles are more easily overcome.
On this sacred day, let us affirm that as children of Light, Divine Light is our birthright. Let us express humble gratitude to our Guru, and to the great masters, sages, prophets, and saints of all traditions and times who are always with us, selflessly and tirelessly showing us the way out of darkness. The greatest gift we can give them is to follow their guidance to the best of our ability, and serve all in peace and joy.
