"All the scriptures tell us one thing: 'Know thyself.' If you have known yourself, you have known everything else. Know That, by knowing which, you will know everything else. The Bible says, 'Seek that kingdom within you.' It is not outside. Seek That within you. Once you have found That, then everything else will be automatically added unto you; you don't have to go looking for outside things, they will all come to you. So learn that first. "

Satsang with Guruji at the Vandana Center
"The Power of Sound"
Saturday, 12 May, 2007
by Damian Boscardin
Words can make or break. Any insensitive words that we say today can cause some kind of harm even for years come.
Words can make more harm than even physical forces. Let us not underestimate the power of words, but train your tongue to speak pleasant, tranquil, truthful, and beneficial words to all who listen.
'Satyam bruyat priyam bruyat' - "Speak what is true, speak what is pleasant" should be observed daily to promote Healing, Peace, Joy and Love to All".
Joyfully at Your Service, damian
Our deepest thanks to Abhaya Cordova, the founder of the Vandana Center in Colts Neck, NJ. Abhaya is a yoga teacher, a master energy therapist, and massage therapist. Having attended a few of Sri Guruji's programs, she invited Him to speak at her center and beautifully coordinated the satsang making Guruji's first engagement at the Vandana Center a wonderful success.
Travels with Guruji

Delaware May 19th
Guruji's "Mastering the Game of Life"
It was a lovely Spring day in Delaware. Mukta, a member of The Greater Wilmington Yoga Alliance, asked Guruji to give a special all day Satsang to its members. Mukta who had heard Guruji in Princeton last year had been talking about him ever since and they were excited to hear him for themselves. I wondered why I was instantly relaxed and at home with them. Then I realized that they all practiced yoga. I looked around at the colorful scarves, comfortable shoes and peaceful smiles and realized that it felt just like setting up a Satsang in Freehold. Everyone pitched in and was attentive to Guruji and the Sangha's needs. Oh, how much I love yoga people! I felt instantly at home.
Some of Guruji's Quotes of the Satsang:
"What we call yoga is the same as all the essence of the fundamentals of all the religions."
"We learn from human being to human being." The reason yoga has lasted for so long and has retained the integrity of its teachings is through the passing down of the lessons from a teacher. You can learn from a book but "if you don't like something or feel like doing something you should do, a teacher will call you on it."
The essence of Spiritual life is to love yourself so you can love others.
"If you want to know God, you have to embrace all of life."
If you're holding onto one, limited idea of beauty, you have to die to that idea for you to see other's views of beauty."
With spiritual growth, "if you're always comfortable, then you're not stretching."
God + fear = man. Man - fear = God.
"Anytime you're feeling anything negative ask yourself this question-What is it I wanted that I didn't get?" And then, why did I want that? Keep going deeper and don't stop with the first answer.
If you're angry do something to show love.
When you are disturbed about something do not try to analyze it at that moment. Get clear and peaceful first.
Day 2 of Delaware
Awakened Heart Spiritual Center
Rev. Kathleen Johnson co-created this beautiful spiritual group, The Awakened Heart, along with several other great spirits in Delaware. They host bi-weekly services and for the past couple of months, they have been focusing on peace across the planet, especially in the Middle East. Stephen Wise, a magnificent singer/songwriter/musician, led the choir in many songs including Om Shanti and culminating in a new song for the occasion about peace in the Middle East. He had the whole congregation dancing and clapping while he played tenor sax, conch, and drums. Stephen has worked with Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, Teena Marie, Boyz II Men and many more. It was such an uplifting event. Guruji led the opening meditation and then gave a short talk on the Yoga Sutras.
Highlights from the talk:
"The only requirement to see God is a pure heart."-- Sri Guruji commenting on a quote from Lord Jesus
"God is ever nearer than our own heart."
"You lack nothing. You don't have to find God. God is here, now searching for you."
"When we come together, we experience God. When we experience music and togetherness, we experience God. When we walk out the door, we forget. Here's the trick to not forgetting. We find it in, through, and with each other."
What a wonderful weekend. Wish you all could have been there. Maybe next time.
"The Divine Madness of
the Yoga Life"
Satsang at Freehold Yoga Center
8 June, 2007

Hari OM, All-
Have you fallen in love with the scriptures yet? Personally, I am in the throes of a Grand Seduction! And it's all because of Guruji Rev. Jaganath. Yes, I already had about seven different commentaries of Patanjali's Sutras and a couple of the Bhagavad Gita, but I wasn't really having any fun with them. Then, I started going to hear Guruji Rev. Jaganath speak, and I turned a corner. Do you know that he's always, always speaking about the scriptures even though he's so engaging and easy to understand? When I finally caught on, I started to jot down whatever reference he made, then I would go home and look it up in one of my favorite books and find a whole new relationship develop with the teachings. Now I'm having fun!
The Yoga Life Society enjoyed our last satsang for the season at Freehold Yoga Center on Friday evening the 8th of June. The topic was "The Divine Madness of the Yoga Life".
In a nutshell, it's referring to the reason Yoga Life Society was formed: to figure out how to live the Yoga Life in this Mad. Mad World. Guruji Rev. Jaganath referred to the last chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, so I've been studying that this week. On page 295 of Gurudev Swami Satchidananda's "The Living Gita" it is written: "The next two slokas are the essence of the entire Bhagavad Gita. 65. Always think of me; worship me; dedicate every action to me; and surrender yourself to me. In this way, you will certainly come to me. I promise you this because you are my beloved." Gurudev Swami Satchidanda has commentary, and then comes "66. Renounce all duties (dharma), and just come to me for refuge. I will take you beyond sin and guilt, where there is neither grief nor sorrow." My humble commentary: Good Deal!
